Welcome To S.P.Y.K. Fitness

S.P.Y.K. Fitness is a 3,000 sq ft fitness studio. We are family owned and operated and have been in business since November of 2014. At S.P.Y.K., we offer one-on-one personal training and a variety of group fitness classes for all fitness levels.  Diet and exercise are like peanut butter and jelly; they work great together when working towards your wellness goals! You can schedule a free consultation with our Certified Integrative Nutrition Coach, Liz, to discuss your goals and map out a personalized plan just for you. Ryan Hunter
​

Ryan is a Columbus, OH native, born and raised as a Michigan fan, and husband to co-owner Liz, an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.  Ryan attended Ashland University where he ran track on a full scholarship and received his Bachelors Degree in Biology, with a focus in Physical Therapy. Ryan is the definition of motivation and has such a passion for helping others achieve their goals in terms of personal health. He spent 14 years of his career at Lifetime Family Fitness as a personal trainer. Ryan has coached Middle and High School boys basketball, football, and girls soccer. He currently coaches football at Gahanna Middle School West. Ryan specializes in athlete training, group fitness, weight loss and strength training. Together, Ryan and Liz have three children who are active cleaning crew and spirit crew members at S.P.Y.K. Fitness.

 Liz Hunter

 Liz, a Northwest, OH native attended college in Orlando, FL where her passion for fitness ignited, but later moved to Columbus, OH to continue her education at The Ohio State University. Liz met her husband, Ryan while coaching girls soccer at Gahanna High School.  Liz has a background in bodybuilding where she competed in several competitions as a Figure Competitor. This led to her passion for nutrition where she later attended The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and has been practicing as a certified Holistic Health Coach since July of 2012. After having children, Liz wanted to become a better advocate for women's health, so she became certified as a DONA Int'l Doula where she helps support women through their labor and deliveries. You can read more on that here. Liz specializes in women's health, nutrition, corrective exercise and weight loss.


Pat McSweeney

Pat, also a Columbus, OH native received his Bachelors Degree from The Ohio State University. As a clinically trained Doctor of Physical Therapy, Pat has a huge desire to help people realize in themselves the resilience and strength of the human body. In his free time, he loves to stay active in Crossfit, triathlons, and running.  Pat’s passion for keeping people healthy has continued throughout his career and ultimately has led him to complete a Residency program with Pro-Activity. Following the completion of his Residency, Pat plans to open Pro-Activity Ohio and looks forward to keeping his home state healthy and happy.
